Dr. Carey-Wright graduated from Chicago State University with a Bachelor’s
degree in Psychology. She received her Master’s degree and Psy.D from The
Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Clinical Psychology in 2005. Dr. Carey-Wright completed her internship at Northwest
Georgia Regional Hospital-Consortium, where she carried out assessment and counseling services to both adult and youth populations.
Dr. Carey-Wright completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Wisconsin Department of Corrections-New Lisbon, and she has also
worked as a counselor for maximum-security inmates at Georgia Diagnostics & Classification Prison in Jackson, Georgia.
Dr. Carey-Wright received additional training in the assessment and treatment of sexual abuse and sexual deviancy from the
Medlin Treatment Center.
Dr. Carey-Wright has experience in the psychological assessment and treatment
of the victims of sexual trauma and abuse, mood disorders, child and adolescent behavioral disorders, anxiety, and ADHD. In
addition, Dr. Carey-Wright has experience in specialty psychological evaluations, such as comprehensive psychoeducation
evaluations, substance abuse assessments, and parent-fitness evaluations.
Dr. Carey-Wright is a member of the American Psychological Association, the
Georgia Psychological Association, and a Clinical Member of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers.
Dr. Carey-Wright's work history with youth between the ages of 7-18 and adult
populations puts her in an excellent position to evaluate and treat children and adolescents, and individuals whose psychological
problems may them into the custody of child protective services, DFCS, and the legal system.
