Dr. Young-Whigham currently works exclusively out of the Marietta Office and is fluent
in Spanish.
Dr. Young-Whigham is an accomplished professional with over 25 years experience as a psychotherapist with
specialization in trauma, crisis intervention, individual, family and group therapy. She has worked extensively
in the criminal justice and court systems. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work and a
Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. She holds a Doctorate
in Psychology from California Coast University. Dr. Whigham serves as a member of the American Red Cross
Mental Health Cadre and participated in the emergency response to 9/11, Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, and other major crises.
Dr. Whigham has pioneered various techniques for working with at-risk youth and served as field faculty for several major
universities to train clinical social workers, masters’ and doctoral level students. She is bilingual in Spanish and
has worked extensively in the Hispanic community. Dr. Whigham is an award-winning writer who has authored
many articles, books and screenplays.
